Rhithm is shutting down
Continue your student wellness journey with Securly Aware
Rhithm will be retired at the end of the 2025-26 school year. We're committed to ensuring your school maintains and enhances its ability to support student mental health — and we're here to help you make a smooth transition to Securly Aware, our always-on student wellness monitoring solution.
A new approach to student wellness
Securly Aware isn't a renamed version of Rhithm. Aware is a fundamentally different approach to supporting student mental health. Where Rhithm relied on daily student check-ins, Aware works behind the scenes, using AI to analyze students' digital activity and identify early indicators of concern before a crisis occurs.
How Aware compares to Rhithm
From scheduled check-ins to always-on monitoring
Rhithm asked students to self-report how they were feeling through daily emoji-based check-ins. Securly Aware takes a different approach: its AI continuously analyzes students' online activity (including Google searches, emails, shared documents, and AI conversations) to detect signs of distress in real time, without relying on students to speak up.
From SEL Activities to the Wellness Widget
Rhithm responded to check-ins with personalized SEL video activities. Aware replaces this with the Wellness Widget. When Aware's AI detects a drop in a student's wellness, a pop-up appears in the student's browser displaying customizable mental health resources from your school or district. You control what resources appear, when they're triggered, and can tailor them by organizational unit.
From daily snapshots to ongoing Wellness Levels
Rhithm provided a self-reported snapshot of a student's day. Aware generates a rolling Wellness Level for each student based on 60 days of cumulative online activity, plus up to 48 months of flagged activity and case history. This helps counselors identify students showing a slow, steady decline, including "quiet" students who might never raise a flag through self-reporting.
