Comprehensive wellness visibility for K-12 students

Securly Aware utilizes the longest-learning AI in K-12 student safety to analyze student activity for genuine signs of distress, moving beyond simple keyword lists to understand sentiment and context. It specifically monitors for indicators of self-harm, suicide, depression, grief, bullying, violence, and the presence of explicit images, ensuring that schools can identify students in crisis.

The system scans a student’s digital footprint, including their web browsing history, search terms, AI prompts, social media posts, and also integrates directly with school-operated cloud services like Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Slides, Chat) and Microsoft 365 (Outlook, OneDrive, Word, Teams).

Aware is designed to significantly reduce alert fatigue by using advanced AI techniques, to filter out false positives such as academic assignments. Instead of overwhelming staff with notifications for minor events, Aware assigns students a "Wellness Level," allowing you to focus primarily on students shifting into High Risk or Critical categories. Aware typically sends less than 10 extreme alerts per 10,000 students per year.

To help teams prioritize, Aware uses our At-Risk AI model to analyze student history and distinguish between isolated incidents and sustained patterns of distress. By categorizing students into Wellness Levels, counselors can immediately identify and focus on the specific students who need an immediate check-in without sifting through raw data.

Once a safety alert is triggered, designated staff members receive a notification via email or text, and the event is logged in Aware Case Manager for investigation and follow-up. Staff can review the context of the alert, and if the district subscribes to Securly On-Call, a team of human specialists will review the alert first to verify if it is a life-threatening emergency before alerting school staff.

Aware deters bullying and cyberbullying through a preventative feature called "Think Twice," which detects aggressive or hurtful language in real-time as a student types. When such language is identified, the system displays a pop-up prompt asking the student if they are sure they want to send the message, encouraging self-correction and giving them a chance to delete the harmful content before it is sent.

The file is removed from the student's view and sharing, securely locked for administrator review, and an alert is sent to the school’s safety team. Securly Aware’s image analysis is conducted using AI, not human review. At no time are images containing nudity viewable by or accessible to Securly employees.

You can connect students to mental health resources using the Wellness Widget, which can automatically appear in a student's browser when Aware detects a drop in their Wellness Level. This widget is fully customizable, allowing you to present students with direct links to school-specific support, such as counselor appointment forms, crisis text lines, or anonymous reporting tools, exactly when they need them most.
